Immediate Post-extraction Implant Placement and Immediate Provisional Restoration in the Esthetic Zone: A Case Report
Park Cheol-Woo

Abstract
Immediate implant placement conserves the width and height of the alveolar bone after tooth extraction. This can bring about esthetic results without an additional surgery and reduce the period of treatment. However, primary closure and initial stability of the soft tissues are difficult to obtain. A provisional restoration placed at an instant after an immediate implant contributes to development and maintenance of soft tissue contours before fabrication of the definitive prosthesis. Also, it is an important alternative to covering an immediate implant, as it may solve the problem of deficient soft tissue for flap closing. This case report describes a 24-year-old male patient who wanted an implant placement in the anterior maxilla after extraction of a fractured tooth(#21). An implant was placed immediately in a fresh extraction site. At the time of the implant installation, ICB Cancellous Bone and Bio-ARMTM were applied to the space between the implant and labial bone wall. A provisional restoration was connected to the implant immediately. The provisional crown was adjusted for a harmonious gingival contour. Four months after the immediate implant placement, an all-ceramic crown with zirconia coping was fabricated. The patient was satisfied with the esthetic and functional aspects of the clinical result.
